DESCRIPTION: This scene establishes the story at a party, and provides context for following the activity of the acetaldehyde dehydrogenase enzyme.
2D Animatic
I wanted to set the Michaelis-Menten dynamics within an overarching story that was relatable and engaging. I settled on describing enzyme kinetics as they relate to alcohol metabolism.
Process
Production & Post-production
This was my first scene that I created, and as soon as I chose the bright colour palette I knew that it would define the aesthetic for the rest of my animation. To create my party-goers, I created a simple human model and rigged it. Each "dancer" has individually animated motions that loop. The only post-production so far is the addition of the liver at the end of scene.
